Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports his office arrested Roosevelt Johnson, 51 of Buffalo, yesterday afternoon in the Rath Building for selling cell phones without a permit in the Social Services Department lobby.
Deputy Richard Lundberg was patrolling the Rath Building when he observed an individual peddling cell phones. The defendant was unable to produce a license from the City of Buffalo’s Commissioner of Permits and Inspection Services allowing sales within the city.
When Deputy Lundberg investigated the man’s identification, he discovered the defendant had an outstanding bench warrant from Tonawanda.
Johnson was placed in the Erie County Holding Center until Tonawanda Police could be contacted.
