Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Buffalo male on Friday, February 27, at approximately 4 p.m.
Deputies responded to male who gained unauthorized access to the Rath Building and threatened a security guard with a knife. The victim provided a description of the subject and directed the Deputies toward the fleeing male. Deputies Justin Bauer, Adam Day, Michael Sluberski caught up to the subject on Pearl Street and took him into custody. A search of the subject discovered a knife in one of his pockets.
The victim positively identified the subject and the Deputies charged Michael Johnson, 51, with Felony Burglary and misdemeanor charges for Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Menacing.
Johnson was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and is being held without bail pending a future court date.
