Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a 25 year old female from Brant after a Sheriff’s patrol vehicle license plate reader received a positive hit for violations.
While on patrol on Route 438 in the Town of Collins, Deputy Jason Breinlinger initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle.  As Deputy Breinlinger conducted his investigation into the driver and the vehicle, it was discovered that Melanie Mohawk’s license had active suspensions.
Mohawk was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, a misdemeanor, and a violation for operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver.  She was released on tickets and is scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court on December 8.
