• 5 DWI Arrests

    Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies arrested five individuals over the weekend for DWI and other charges.

    11/28/2014; 11:50 pm; Town of Clarence - Sheriff Deputies Lee Richard and Timothy Coulombe were dispatched to Wehrle and Shimerville roads for a suspicious vehicle and individuals shouting.  When the Deputies arrived the suspects left the area and Deputies headed in the direction of the suspicious vehicle.  Deputies initiated a traffic stop and Shimerville and Main Street.  The driver, David Allen, 61 of Sloan, was transported to the Clarence Substation where a breath test indicated BAC of .09%.  Allen was charged with DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation due to two active driver license suspensions.  Allen was released on appearance tickets and has a Clarence Town Court date on December 16.

    11/29/2014; 11:20 pm; Town of Holland – Deputy Eric Szkatulski was dispatched to a disabled vehicle at Olean and Knox roads.  When the Deputy arrived he began investigating the driver’s license and vehicle’s registration after suspecting the driver was intoxicated.  It was discovered that Joseph Oshei’s, 39 of Franklinville, driver’s license was suspended.  Oshei refused to take a breath test and was taken into custody.  Oshei was charged with felony DWI (second offense), felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and circumventing a mandatory interlock device.  He was transported the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.

    11/29/2014; 1 am; Town of Boston – Sheriff Deputies Richard Lundberg and Donald Hoelscher were dispatched for a slow moving vehicle on Route 219.  The Deputies initiated a traffic stop and administered Field Sobriety Tests to John Lattimer, 55 of Concord.  After failing the field tests, Lattimer was transported to the Springville Substation where a breath test indicated a BAC of .11%.  Lattimer was charged with Felony Aggravated DWI with a child passenger in the vehicle, DWI, driving below the minimum speed limit and an unsafe lane change.  Lattimer was released to family members on traffic tickets and has a pending court date on December 15.

    11/30/2014; 5 pm; Town of Orchard Park – Deputy Jeffrey Ely stopped Anthony Tibruzi, 21 of Hamburg, on Abbott Road in front of the stadium for reckless driving.  During Deputy Ely’s investigation it was discovered that Tibruzi’s license was revoked for failure to satisfactorily participate in NYS Drinking Driver program and driving while intoxicated.  Tibruzi was arrested and charged with felony DWI, felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle, Reckless Driving – misdemeanor and operating a vehicle without insurance.  Tibruzi was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment. 

    11-30-2014; 6:30 pm; Town of Concord – Deputy Jason Bouton was dispatched to a reckless driving call where a SUV nearly ran another vehicle off the road.  When the Deputy arrived he observed the suspected vehicle in a ditch on its side.  As Deputy Bouton proceeded with his investigation of the incident, the Deputy suspected the driver of the SUV was intoxicated.  George Stubblebine, 54 of Concord, was transported to the Springville Substation were he submitted to a breath test.  The test revealed a BAC of .10%.  Stubblebine was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, drinking alcohol in a vehicle on the highway, speeding and failure to stay right.  He was released to a third party and is scheduled to appear in Concord Town Court on December 15.
