• Shoplifting Arrest - Jackson

    Erie County Undersheriff Mark Wipperman reports the arrest of a female for shoplifting at a Clarence clothing store.
    Deputy Klometz was investigating a shoplifting complaint at a retail department store in Clarence on Saturday, November 8, when he received a separate call from a clothing store for suspicious activity.  When the Deputy arrived at TJ Maxx on Transit Road in Clarence, store loss prevention personnel apprehended one of the three subjects for shoplifting.
    Klometz patrolled the parking lot for the other subjects but the suspected car had left the vicinity.  The Deputy returned to the store to continue the investigation of the shoplifting incident.
    An inventory of the stolen merchandise was conducted and the value to the items was valued at $633. 83.  Subsequently, Chaniece Jackson, 30 of Buffalo, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny and was taken to the Erie County Holding Center where she was later released.
