Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that an Akron man was arrested on felony DWI charges around midnight on October 11, after he collided with two parked cars on Bloomingdale Ave in the Village of Akron.

Deputy Daniel Harris was dispatched to investigate a hit and run accident late Saturday night.  When the Deputy arrived the driver of the vehicle that hit the parked cars had already fled the scene.  A short time later the Deputy, with assistance from the Akron Police Department, located the suspect at a residence in Akron.  The suspect was returned to the scene of the incident and was positively identified by witnesses.

The Deputy discovered that the driver had his license revoked for a prior DWI as well 7 different active suspensions.  The suspect also was wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant from Genesee County.  Subsequently Raymond Jonathan, 25 of Akron, was arrested and charged with Felony DWI, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and numerous traffic violations including speeding and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Jonathan was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment on Newstead Town Court on October 15.
