Erie County Undersheriff Mark Wipperman reports the arrest of a Marilla man for using bolt cutters and stealing cash and checks from roadside stands in Concord and East Aurora.
In the Concord flower stand incident, the suspect used a pair of bolt cutters to cut the lock on the cash box and stole approximately $100. The owner of the flower stand was able to provide Deputies with video from a security surveillance system setup to monitor the cash box and stand.
In a separate incident at a fruit stand in East Aurora, the suspect entered a garage through an unlocked door and pried opened a locked box containing proceeds from produce sales.
Utilizing images from the surveillance system from the flower stand and vehicle description from the fruit stand incident, Sheriff’s Detectives were able to identify the suspect.
On October 8, Patrick Beyor, 50 of Marilla was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, Attempted Pettit Larceny, Criminal Mischief and Criminal Mischief with Intent to Damage Property. Beyor was released on separate appearance tickets for the respective town courts.
