Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of an Orangeville resident for Driving While Intoxicated on Route 400 Monday, September 29.
Erie County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a two car accident around 6 p.m. on Route 400 in the Town of Elma near the Rice Road overpass.  When Deputies arrived both cars were pulled off to the side of the road.
During the investigation it was discovered that Tammi Caltagirone, 42 of Orangeville, NY, was following too closely to the victim’s car.  The force of the impact injured the victim; the injuries were not disclosed but were not considered life threatening.
The Deputies asked Caltagirone to perform roadside sobriety tests and they also administered a breathalyzer test.  Caltagirone had a BAC of .12% and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Operating a Motor Vehicle with .08% or more BAC.  She was also cited for following too closely – a violation.
Caltagirone was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Elam Town Court on October 23 at 6 p.m.
