Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Syracuse man for shoplifting and resisting arrest at a Clarence department store.
BonTon security associates called the Erie County Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of store merchandise during the afternoon of September 22. Deputy Davis responded to the store where security associates had detained Keith King, 35 of Syracuse, NY.
When Deputy Davis advised King of the accusations, King became confrontational and refused all of the Deputies’ commands. When the Deputy attempted to handcuff the suspect, King resisted and began to struggle with the Deputy. Deputy Davis managed to subdue the suspect with the assistance from a store security associate and placed him under arrest.
King was charged with Petit Larceny, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration – all misdemeanors. King was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and was refused bail pending his arraignment.
