  • DWI Arrest #177 - Stasiak

    Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the evening DWI arrest of a South Wales man following a two car property damage only accident on the Rt. 400 in the Town of Elma.
    Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Dan Harris responded to Rt. 400 in the Town of Elma for a reported two vehicle property damage accident early Monday evening.  The suspect vehicle in question, was reportedly driving recklessly and scraped the side of another vehicle while they were both travelling south on the Rt. 400.  The suspect vehicle continued driving on and was located a short time later by Deputy Harris on the 400.
    Upon further interview and field sobriety tests, it was determined the driver, 38 year old Christopher L. Stasiak of Olean Rd. in South Wales, was intoxicated.
    He was arrested for DWI and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
    Stasiak refused all further breath tests to determine BAC.
    He was later released to a third party on appearance tickets for DWI, Leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and other traffic violations. Stasiak will return to the Town of Elma Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    This was the 177th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
