Erie County Sheriff's Deputies Todd Jones and Brad Ballantyne responded to a reckless operation of a vehicle call around 9:00pm Friday night in the Village of Springville. The vehicle was located on Rt. 39 in Sardinia and stopped on Hake Rd. just into Catt. Co. Upon further interview and field sobriety tests, it was discovered the driver, 46 y/o Tammy L. Oyer of Yorkshire, was intoxicated by drugs. Oyer also had a small quantity of narcotic pills on her person. She was arrested and charged with DWI/Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, and numerous traffic violations. Oyer's vehicle was also suspended for insurance lapse. She submitted to a blood draw to determine the substances of her drug intoxication. Her vehicle was towed from the scene and she was later released to a third party on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Sardinia Court at a later date. Springville Pd assisted on the stop.

About an hour and a half later, Deputy Ed Krypel responded to Moore Rd. in the Town of Newstead for a report of a one vehicle property damage only crash. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a vehicle driven by 39 y/o Kevin S. Lamb of Moore Rd. in Newstead left the roadway, sideswiped a utility pole and ended up in a flower garden in a residential property. Lamb was not injured but upon further interview and field sobriety testing, he was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI and other traffic violations. Lamb submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a .12% BAC. His vehicle was towed and he was later released to a third party on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Newstead Court at a later date. The State Police assisted at the crash scene.

At about 2:00am Saturday morning, Deputies David L. Zamorek and Ed Krypel responded to Main St. in Clarence for a reported two car property damage only crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that a vehicle driven by 23 y/o Aaron E. Apholz of Franklin St. in Akron rear ended another vehicle on Main St. and upon further investigation and field sobriety tests, Apholz was discovered to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI and other traffic violations. Apholz submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a .16% BAC, twice the legal limit. His vehicle was towed from the scene and he was later released to a third party on appearance tickets to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.

These were the 159th, 160th, and 161st DWI arrests by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
