Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of an Alden man for a marijuana distribution network operated from his residence.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted the Narcotics Detectives after receiving anonymous tips about marijuana plants growing in a yard and complaints of a person dealing from his residence.
On August 11, Narcotic Detectives executed a search warrant at 1653 Meadow Drive in the Village of Alden. Narcotic Detectives confiscated approximately $8000 in cash, about 2 pounds of marijuana and numerous hydrocodone pills. Furthermore, during the Detectives investigation, it was discovered that Glenn Shaw, 24, was purchasing large amounts of marijuana every week for sale from his house.
Detectives arrested Shaw and charged him with a felony count of Criminal Possession of Marijuana and two misdemeanors including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and unlawfully growing marijuana.
Sheriff Howard said, “Anytime we can shut down a drug distribution network and arrest a suspected dealer is a good day for the residents of Erie County and unfortunately this is further evidence that drugs are everywhere in our community.”
Shaw was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment on August 12, in Village of Alden Court.
