Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two parents hosting a party where responding Deputies witnessed teeenagers with alcohol beverages.
Erie County Sheriffs received an anonymous tip Saturday, July 26, about an underage drinking party on Salt Road in the Town of Clarence. Upon arrival, Deputies witnessed several youths around tables with alcoholic beverages and three “Beer Pong” tables set up.
The Deputies questioned the home owners, Kenneth and Michalene Brusehaber, about the underage drinking and they admitted they were not paying attention.
Kenneth and Michalene were both charged with two class A misdemeanors for giving alcohol to minors and endangering the welfare of a child. The two parents were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Clarence Town Court on August, 21.
The 45 teenagers remaining at the party were released to their parents or guardian, the approximately 20 teenagers that fled into the surrounding woods were not found.
Sheriff Howard warns, “My office and Deputies are continuing an anti-underage drinking campaign throughout Erie County and I am warning parents not to serve alcohol to minors.”
