Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of a Clarence man for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town of Clarence.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Lee Richard stopped a vehicle driven by 47 y/o Frederick J. Zwierlein of Keller Rd. in Clarence at about 1:30am on Main St. in the Town of Clarence Friday morning.
Further interview and field sobriety tests found Zwierlein to be intoxicated. He was subsequently charged with DWI and other traffic violations.
Zwierlien refused all further BAC testing and was later released to a third party on appearance tickets to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
Zwierlein's vehicle was towed from the scene and put on a DWI hold.
This was the 142nd DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
