Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Detectives arrested an inmate at the Erie County Holding Center after he smuggled narcotics into the facility.
On July 22, Holding Center Deputy Timm observed inmate Joshua Fedick trying to conceal a bag of pills in his facility issued pant leg. Deputies took custody of the pills and performed a thorough search of inmate Fedick; the search did not reveal any additional contraband.
While being questioned, Inmate Fedick stated that he hid the pills on his person and the bag contained an unknown amount of Oxycontin and Xanax.
Narcotic Detectives charged the inmate with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possessing contraband while in prison – both class A misdemeanors. Fedick remains at the Erie County Holding Center awaiting arraignment in Buffalo City Court on July 23.
