Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of an area driver for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols just before midnight Sunday.
Deputies responded to a call of a property damage accident in which a car driving too fast around a curve hit a curb damaging the car. Upon arrival Deputies Gene Nati and Ryan Rogers found Bo A. Aquila (23) and deemed him to be impaired by alcohol. He was subsequently given Standard Field Sobriety Tests and then charged with DWI. His Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was .22%, almost 3 times the legal limit. He was processed at the Sheriff’s Station on Wende Road and released on appearance tickets to a sober third party.
The charge is an Aggravated DWI due to Mr. Aquila’s BAC being greater than .18%. This is the 140th Driving While Intoxicated Arrest by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in 2014.
