Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of a West Valley man for DWI following a traffic stop on Rt. 219 in the Town of Boston.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Walczak was on the Rt. 219 in the Town of Boston when he observed erratic vehicle operation. The vehicle was stopped and upon further interview and field sobriety tests with assisting Deputy Brad Ballantyne and Sgt Jim Welch, found the driver, 33 y/o Joshua C. Griffith of Stady Rd. in West Valley, to be intoxicated.
Griffith was arrested and charged with DWI and other traffic infractions. He submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a .11% BAC.
Griffith's vehicle was towed from the scene and he was later released to a third party on appearance tickets to the Town of Boston Court at a later date.
This was the 127th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
