Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced today the arrest of Junior “Polo” Diaz for selling cocaine to undercover officers on two separate occasions. The arrest took place in the evening of June 9, with the assistance of the Buffalo Police Narcotic Unit.
Sheriff Howard said, “We are pleased to arrest a four (4) time convicted drug felon and dealer, and to remove this individual from our neighborhoods.”
The arrest occurred in the area of Mr. Diaz’s residence, Isabelle St., Buffalo, NY. Over the past several months, officers observed several cars from throughout Erie County and as far away as Grand Island, approach his residence to purchase narcotics. In addition to conducting narcotic sales in his neighborhood, law enforcement officers have observed Mr. Diaz blatantly selling drugs in the popular nightlife districts of Chippewa and Allentown.
“I am pleased that this several month investigation resulted in getting both cocaine and a drug dealer off the streets.” Howard continues, “The fact that we have people from the suburbs driving a good distance to buy drugs shows that this isn’t just a city problem but rather a community problem.”
Mr. Diaz, who has 5 different aliases, was charged with criminal sale of a narcotic and criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell.
Sr. Detective Alan Rozansky is available for inquiries regarding this arrest at 716.867.6161.
