    Posted On: May 01, 2014

Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of a Cattaraugus man for multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Concord.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Brad Ballantyne was on patrol on Genesee Rd. in the Town of Concord about 1:30am Thursday morning and stopped a vehicle driven by 40 y/o Corey J. Furl of Aust Rd. in Cattaraugus for a traffic violation.

While interviewing Furl, he claimed he had no ID on him and twice lied about his identity in an effort to hide the fact that he had 2 suspensions on his driver's license.  Furl was positively ID'd later by his picture ID.

Furl also had a narcotic pill on his possession out of the proper container for it.

Furl was arrested and charged with Criminal Impersonation, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and various other traffic violations, including a misdeamenor charge of Failing to have an Interlock Device in the vehicle which is on his license restrictions.

Furl's vehicle was towed from the scene and he was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held on $1000 bail.  Furl will be arraigned in the Town of Concord Court at a later time.
