Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Chaffee man for DWI and AUO 1st following a traffic stop in the Town of Sardinia.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Jon Hanna stopped a vehicle on Rt. 39 in the Town of Sardinia for a traffic violation around 10:45pm Sunday evening and upon further interview and field sobriety tests, found the driver, 23 y/o Dylan J. Draper of Chaffee, to be intoxicated.
Draper was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI. He submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a .17% BAC, over twice the legal limit.
Draper's driver's license was currently suspended for pending alcohol related offenses, so he was charged additionally with Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st degree.
His vehicle was towed from the scene and he was later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Sardinia Court at a later date.
This was the 76th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol this year.
