Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of a Grand Island man for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town Grand Island.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Tim Cannan was on patrol in Grand Island around 1:00am when he stopped a vehicle driven by 29 y/o Gino J. Lamarco of Carl Rd. Grand Island for a speeding violation.
Upon further investigation and field sobriety testing, Lamarco was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI and other traffic violations.
Lamarco submitted to a chemical breath test which registered a reading of .15% BAC, almost twice the legal limit.
His vehicle was towed from the scene and he was later released to a third party on appearance tickets to the Town of Grand Island at a later date.
This was the 66th DWI by the Erie County Sheriff's Road Patrol this year.
