Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Grand Island man for Driving While Intoxicated. This is the 49th DWI arrest by Erie Co. Sheriff's Deputies in 2014.
Deputy Daniel Walczak was patrolling on Whitehaven Rd. in the Town of Grand Island when he noticed a vehicle that was unable to stay in it's lane. Deputy Walczak stopped the vehicle and found that the driver, 57 year old Dana Boyle, was intoxicated. Mr. Boyle was taken into custody and transported to the Erie County Sheriff's Grand Island Substation. A chemical breath test was administered to Mr. Boyle and his blood alcohol content was found to be .18%, more than twice the legal limit. Mr. Boyle was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and released on Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court at a future date.
