DWI Arrests #22 & 23 - Preve & Jacobsen
Posted On: Feb 12, 2014

Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that the Erie County Sheriff's Office made two DWI arrests overnight on 02/11/14.  These two arrests bring the total number of DWI arrests for the Erie County Sheriff's Office to 23 for 2014.

In the first incident, Deputy Christopher Soluri responded to a complaint of a reckless driver on Whitehaven Rd. in the Town of Grand Island.  Deputy Soluri was able to locate and stop the vehicle.  Investigation showed that the driver, 65 year old Claudia Preve of Grand Island, was intoxicated.  Preve was arrested and charged with DWI.  A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .19%, over twice the legal limit.  This  resulted in her DWI charge being upgraded to aggravated DWI.  She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court at a later date.

In the second incident, Deputy Robert Galbraith stopped a vehicle on Harlem Rd. @ William St. in the Town of Cheektowaga for passing a red light.  Further investigation showed that the driver, 42 year old Anna Jacobsen of Cheektowaga, was intoxicated.  Jacobsen was arrested and charged with DWI.  A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .13%.  She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Cheektowaga Court at a future date.
