• Fatal Fire

    Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard has confirmed the death of a Clarence woman in a residential fire Friday evening.  At approximately 7:48 PM, Sheriff's Deputies along with the Harris Hill Fire Department responded to a report of a mobile home fire at 9170 Sheridan Drive in Clarence.  Upon their arrival they found the mobile home to be fully engulfed.  Firefighters located the body of 76-year-old Nelsonia Voight who had perished in the blaze.  An autopsy conducted by the Erie County Medical Examiner's office today determined that her death was caused by smoke inhalation.  Erie County Sheriff's fire investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, and may have been caused by careless smoking.  The investigation is continuing.
