Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Cuba man for driving while ability impaired by drugs and driving while intoxicated on 02/06.14. This is the 18th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office in 2014.
Deputy David Zamorek stopped a vehicle on Olean Rd in the Town of Holland for vehicle equipment violations. Further investigation found that the driver, 54 year old James Walker, was intoxicated. Walker was arrested for DWI as well as felony level aggravated unlicensed operation as he was driving with a revoked license. A breath test revealed Walker's blood alcohol content to be .09%. Walker was also charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance as he was displaying signs of being impaired by drugs and was in possession of a quantity of hydrocodone pills. Walker was taken to the Erie Co. Holding Center on $500 bail.
