Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of an East Aurora man for DWI after his vehicle became disabled in a snowbank in the Town of Boston on 12/19/13.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputies Ken Achtyl and Jason Bouton responded to Lower East Hill Rd in the Town of Boston for a report of a vehicle disabled in a snowbank.
Upon arrival, Deputies discovered the driver, 21 y/o Christopher T. Wier of Grover Rd. in East Aurora, to be intoxicated. Wier had lost control of his vehicle, left the road and struck the snowbank. He was uninjured.
Wier was arrested and charged with DWI and other traffic violations. Wier submitted to a chemical breath test which produced reading of .10% BAC. He was released to a third pary on appearance tickets for Town of Boston Court at a later date and his vehicle was towed from the scene with a 12 hour DWI hold.
This was the 280th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
